Laughter is the best medicine

Laughter yoga is a therapeutic exercise to those who suffer from terminal diseases and people who have stressful jobs.

Doctors are true to their saying that laughter is the best medicine.

Here in the Philippines, there are city hospitals that advocates laughter yoga to aid patients through this kind of therapy.

According to Elvie Estavillo, Laughter Yoga Guro, it  promotes a healthy heart for those who are willing to undergo the process of recovery, especially patients who underwent minor or even major operations.

Let’s exercise while laughing

The only difference of this kind of exercise is the laughter of the participants. Children and adults as well, will enjoy the process.

The breathing exercise will be the start of the whole routine. It lasts for a minute. Then stretching will follow; it will include arms and legs to promote good blood circulation.

The laughter begins. The first couple of minutes will include uniform laughter, like the usual ha-ha-ha-ha. Then the next minute it will involve hand clapping that will include the standard counting of one to eight for a routine.

Then, the approval laughter will conclude the session, including the breathing repetition as the finale.

Laughter yoga releases stress and lowers blood pressure.

How laughter yoga began

While completing his thesis about "Laughter is the best medicine", way back 1995, Dr. Madan Kataria, a young Indian student and a Yoga practitioner discovered that laughter plus the yogic breathing excercises can be both therapeutic and a cure to people, especially patients in the hospitals who are suffering with terminal illnesses.

Dr. Kataria's method of therapy, the laughter yoga, was easily adapted in many countries around the world. There's no stopping those patients and seniors who want to be relieved from stress and problems emanating from their physical attributes.

Forget your problems, with this method of therapy. Try, laughter yoga. I did it already.

Laughter can never be bought. It's a voluntary rection when you feel happy, inside and out. Thanks, sailor.

I have done the laughter yoga before, and it works amazingly well. For myself, and those who were around me too. Great hub!
