Watching the Sunset

I gaze at the masses of clouds,

reflecting the prism of colors

emanating from the setting sun.

My mind travels back home

recounting what happened before

the sad, bittersweet goodbyes.

As the plane travels placidly

I looked at the window then sighed;

What I've been doing is for my family,

being away will give them security.

With the sparkle of the setting sun,

I was inspired to do good at my job.

The changing colors, from amber red to orange

carried my eyes to drift slowly into sleep.

I was enthralled by the hues of colors

that clouded over me as dusk

enveloped the environs.

My eyes got fixated at the most beautiful colors

I have ever witnessed and lingered for awhile.

Marveling at the beauty in front of me.

The roaring of ship's engine

brought me back to reality

but the view left me praising God.

He's truly guiding me and the rest

of the vanguards of the sea,

stewards of nature preserving its beauty.

Ah, beautiful sunset that changes everyday

It's silent message assured me that you're okay

No need for worried mind to be restless at night.

With my family in secured hands...

I still can't get over with your colors

Oh, my setting sun.

You are the bridge that wiped

my loneliness when I was away

from home.

Trailing the path going to shore...

I've seen again the splendor of

our Creator.

Through you, through His sunset

we are always reminded that

tomorrow is but another day.

Thanking Him for a good day,

as the sun sets ready to cool my world

and erases my problems momentarily.

Facing another day is a blessing,

appreciating what's in store ahead

and reflecting what we've done

under the setting sun.

I've done two hubs in a row regarding this subject: SUNSET. Maybe, other hubbers will think otherwise about me but I really do appreciate the setting sun.

Well, I also appreciate sunrise because the rays are good source of vitamin D in order to activate other nutrients in our body.

But with the setting sun, unmarred by the pollution in the city, or it may also add color variations to it, I am always enamored by its colors.

I can also gaze at the sun without being blinded by its light as its colors soften the environment as it literally sinks at the horizon.

Vivid memories of the past, those good, old memories of yesteryear will surface in my mind. It also inspires me to make a song or a poem regarding the subject.
